Art Workshops in Guatemala
Introducing our first yoga workshop !!

Yoga for Health

Healing and Happiness

4 - 13 April  2014

Many people find a calm, deeply spiritual energy in Guatemala. Those who practice yoga are often looking for just that quality to enhance and deepen their yoga practice.

Join us and you'll find yourself nurtured, renewed and inspired !!

** Each day Delia will lead you through poses designed to rejuvinate both body and soul, incorporating gentle and mindful movement, healing breathwork, guided relaxation and balancing meditation.

** Delia will discuss various styles of yoga practice, then meet individually with each student to discuss goals and write a realistic plan that supports your lifestyle and unique personality.

** We spend part of our time at the Posada Santiago in Santiago Atitlan, in the heart of the Mayan world. Imagine holding your pose in view of calming Lake Atitlan and majestic San Pedro volcano!!  Santiago is also home to many of Guatemala's artists and a great place to shop !!

** A highlight FOR SURE will be experiencing one of Antigua's incredible Lenten Processions.  (Click on image for Liza's first utube upload video)
Lenten Procession
As a class we make a carpet in front of the hotel ... pine needles and flowers ...  as do many families to honor the age old traditions.

*** We'll meet with a Mayan healer/spiritual guide and experience a Mayan ceremony, along with learning about other indigenous healing practices.

*** This workshop is appropriate for both experienced and novice yoga practitioners - all are welcome!

Delia
is a yoga instructor passionate about sharing yoga as a tool to expand ones life, encourage health and wellness, and bring clarity when at one of life's many crossroads, one pose at a time. Delia began practicing a vinyasa style yoga almost 15 years ago and was amazed by the transformation in not only her body, but also how it brought clarity and focus at a time she was making changes in her life. So she pursued training in several yoga styles, including Inyengar, Ashtanga, Viniyoga and most recently completed  Therapeutic YOGA Training with Alturo Peal and Cheri Clampett at Pure Prana YOGA studio.

Delia teaches at Radiance Yogawhere she creates a lighthearted environment guiding students to explore a mindful practice, meet physical challenges while encouraging compassion through self-acceptance.

Delia has joined us twice in Guatemala for workshops and says she LOVES Guatemala for its color, indigenous culture and calm healing energy - a perfect place for a yoga retreat!!  I can tell you from personal experience that she is one of those kind, encouraging souls that people love to be around.  She is also a photographer and lives with her husband and children in Alexandria, Virginia.

Student comments:   "Among Delia's many gifts as a yoga instructor is her inherent talent to provide clear and precise instruction.  Her helpful pose adjustment 'tweaks' made my yoga practice more meaningful and a deeper experience"  Julianne
